Hi there, Booklovers!

A big sigh of relief…before taking off at full speed again. That’s what my summer/spring is looking like now that I’ve just finished up my MFA in San Diego and am looking forward to the in-store arrival of my new book, HUNGRY FOR IT, on June 24th.

It’s been a hectic last few days between moving from San Diego, attending the Lambda Literary Awards in Los Angeles, and relocating back to Atlanta full time. What a time to find out that AirTran’s luggage policy changed! But ah well. Good times were had in LA despite not being able to take home the Lammy in my category. But relative newcomer to the writing scene, Gabrielle Goldsby, was awarded a well-deserved trophy for her mystery Wall of Silence. Fred Smith and I rubbed elbows with some luminaries from the queer lit world and were treated to some fabulous nosh throughout the evening, including these amazing cream puffs that nearly made me scream….

Book Expo America the next day was fun, crazy, overwhelming, and everything in between. My signing there went fast and I got the chance to grab a bunch of signatures from writers whose work I love or at least always wanted to try. At the end of the afternoon, I waited in line for about thirty minutes to pay for a cheeseburger that was, unexpectedly, worth it. Golden toasted wheat bun split around a tender, well-grilled meat patty slathered in melted cheddar cheese. And don’t forget the fries. Crisp. Greasy. Yum.

On the writing front – more about books, less about food – I’ve started the outline for a new novel that’s due out next June and tentatively entitled, Pleasures in the Dark. The title is a bit cheesy, but will more than likely change before the book hits the shelves. Unlike HUNGRY, this 2009 release is not a sequel to anything previous. For those curious about a sequel to BLISS and DESIRE please have a bit more patience with me. I was supposed to do a sequel to BLISS due next year but the storyline I came up with for my girls, Hunter and Sinclair, was so weak that I couldn’t go forward. But I’ll keep working on it : ).

Big thanks to all you lovelies who sent in graduation congrats. I’m easing into a slightly slower groove so will be responding to your wonderful messages soon. Take very good care. Enjoy the outdoors as much as you can, and remember that it’s life’s small delights that make it all worth it.

**New DESIRE review**

Erotica Revealed just did a great review for DESIRE. Do check out the full text of it at their site http://www.eroticarevealed.com/. Here is a snippet:

“This book stands out from the red sea of current vampire erotica and casts its own powerful spell. Although they are repeatedly defined as "beasts" and "fiends," these characters attract the mortal reader as they attract mortal characters in diverse places in the real world: Jamaica and Alaska, with kinky weekends in Los Angeles.” – by Jean Roberta at EroticaRevealed.com.

**Reviews in General**

Don’t forget that you too can write a review of your own about any of my books for Amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com. Any lovely words – no matter how brief – are very much appreciated and welcome.

**Travel News**

In addition to a round of signings in Atlanta and the surrounding areas this year, I’ll also be heading to Chicago (August 14 – 16) and New York (September 5 – 7). Now that I’m no longer in school, there will be time to go farther and do more. For further details or changes, keep an eye out on my Myspace page.
